1. To Record a mono track, first arm the track for Record by clicking the red Arm for Record button on the Track List. You will then see the Record Device Selector appear to the left of the red Arm for Record Button.
2. Click the Record Device Selector to display a list of channels to record from.
o For a sound card with a single stereo input, select the right or left channel.
o For a sound card with multiple inputs, you will need to specify the channel as well as the recording device in the pull-down menu: left first, then right. For example, if I want to record only track 3 coming into the card, I would arm the track, click the Record Device Selector, select 3 & 4 as my input device, then click the Selector again and select the left channel. This way I get a mono track of only track 3 (the left channel); track 4 (the right channel of the 3 & 4 pair) is ignored.
3. Begin recording.
Record Device Selector does not show anywhere on Vegas Pro 17.
I think it might be referring to the “Microsoft Sound Mapper” on the right of the VOL fader, clicking on that gives options as to what to record
To view in VP17…
